Can Tarzan move past its racist history?

A white man raised by apes is somehow still more relatable than actual Africans — in Africa

Tarzan was created back in 1912 by author Edgar Rice Burroughs and is a product of a racist past. The real question, according to journalist Derek McGinty, is not whether old school Tarzan is racist, it’s whether he can be cleaned up and rehabilitated for modern sensibilities?
