You can’t put a price tag on time. When we collaborated on this vignette, it immediately took me back to being a summer camp counselor when I was in college — one of the most fulfilling jobs I’ve ever had. Showing those campers genuine attention, showing them that I cared about them and their interests, that meant the world not only to them. Not only to their parents, who would personally thank me for showing their son or daughter love, but to me as well. It changed me forever as a person, probably more than it did them. And those young boys and girls inspired me to write what I did. I just hope I did them proud.
