GAME. BLOUSES.
Despite a 99-88 victory Wednesday night for the U.S. men’s basketball team, you have to give some props to Australia. The Patty Mills/Matthew Dellavedova-led Aussies threatened Carmelo Anthony’s squad from the jump. They even — gulp — led at halftime, the first time that’s happened to Team USA since the 2004 Summer Games in Athens, Greece.

With 36 seconds to play, Australia was still within five points, so it’s not as if the game was ever really put out of reach. Still, Anthony dropped 31 important points — officially passing LeBron James as the all-time leading Olympic scorer — including nine 3-pointers in the win. Next up: Friday’s Group A game against Serbia.

SOCIAL STATUS
Cleveland Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco is having himself some kind of year. The 29-year-old has been one of the team’s best pitchers all season as the Indians sit atop first place in the American League Central. Last week, the man even accomplished this:

On Wednesday night, Carrasco finally celebrated his citizenship like he had to, you guys. Major salute.
