After an 0-2 start to the season, criticism mounted for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson. But one particularly racist comment made headlines, when a local superintendent in East Texas posted on Facebook that “you can’t count on a black quarterback.”
Watson responded to the attack with more than just words. Despite losing the following game to the New York Giants, the quarterback has led the Texans on a league-leading nine-game winning streak.
