‘The Undefeated’ highlights the heroes of African American history

Inspired by a poem that author Kwame Alexander wrote and performed for The Undefeated, a new children’s book called The Undefeated is introducing a new generation to the sacrifices and accomplishments of African Americans throughout history.
The Undefeated’s editor-in-chief, Kevin Merida, joined Alexander and award-winning illustrator Kadir Nelson for a conversation in Washington, D.C., about the origins of the book and the impact they hope it creates.
